Preschool

Preschool education is free education that children receive in the year before compulsory schooling starts, i.e. the year the child turns six. Preschool education is compulsory. This means that, according to the law, in the year before the start of compulsory schooling, the child must participate in a year-long preschool education or other activities that achieve the goals of preschool education. Preschool education is usually organised in the facilities of kindergartens and schools. Preschool education uses pedagogy and playtime which are suitable for early childhood education as well as things that the children themselves are interested in. The aim of preschool education is to strengthen the prerequisites for the child’s learning and development.
