The maternity and child health clinic

The maternity and child health clinic (“neuvola”) is often the first service for families with children. The clinic is contacted as soon as you notice that you are pregnant. The progress of the pregnancy and the mother’s health are monitored at the clinic. In addition to that, the maternity and child health clinic provides information and instructions about parenting and relationships. The development of the child begins to be monitored as soon as the child is born. The well-being of the whole family is also reviewed at the clinic. You can tell a nurse at the clinic if something worries you or you feel that you need support in your daily life.

The website lastensuojelu.info also has information about the maternity and child health clinic in the Somali and Arabic languages.

The Niitty project has made a video about pregnancy monitoring at the maternity and child health clinic. Subtitles are available for the video in different languages.
